MY PICKLEBALL BACKGROUND
I have been coaching and playing tennis for over 20 years and have recently enjoyed the process of learning and understanding the game of pickleball.

The similarities between the two sports means that transferring my knowledge and experience has been a very natural transition.

I am passionate about driving forward pickleball alongside tennis within queens as I think it’s a brilliant way to get people into learning a new racquet sport, especially from a beginner level.

You will regularly find me competing at local pickleball tournaments and representing our club in the NE pickleball league.
MY ROLE AT THE CLUB
My main role within the club is to provide access to high quality coaching and develop players standards from beginners to more advanced players.

Pickleball is fantastic for all ages and abilities and at queens we strive to create inclusive pickleball sessions so everyone feels welcome and part of the pickleball community.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Over the years I have learned that my passion lies in working closely with juniors and adults and helping them reach their potential and develop a love for tennis.

Since coaching within the Queens Sports Club programme, I have developed a great relationship with players and parents and feel that my skill set is something that complements the club.

Within the coaching programme, my ideology is to develop the fundamentals & ABCs so that players have a strong foundation on which to thrive and go on to reach their full potential.

I am also a big advocate for coach development and regularly look to gain more experience in order to maintain the high standards that I set for myself.

MY PICKLEBALL BACKGROUND
I have been coaching and playing squash and racketball for over 30 years at Queen’s and have captained squash teams at Yorkshire League standard. Currently, I serve as Captain of the B Team in the White Rose North East Pickleball League. The similarities between squash and pickleball have allowed me to transition seamlessly into pickleball coaching. I have also competed in several national and local pickleball tournaments, achieving notable results.
MY ROLE AT THE CLUB
At the club, I coach beginners and improver classes, helping players develop both skills and confidence. I continue to captain the B Team in the White Rose Pickleball League and have also run taster pickleball sessions for Scouts and adult Round Table groups on a voluntary basis.
MY PHILOSOPHY
I enjoy working with both adults and juniors to build skills, confidence, and enjoyment in the game. I believe pickleball is an excellent sport for supporting fitness and mental wellbeing and is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, whether new to sport or transitioning from another discipline. Inclusion is at the heart of my coaching approach, and I aim to make pickleball welcoming for everyone.
